I purchased this PC a few months ago, with Windows 8. Didn't have much trouble other than the occasional "Intel R HD graphics driver stopped responding and has recovered" error.
I upgraded to Windows 10 Pro a month after the official release. It went fine for the first month but after a certain update I started getting the graphics driver error very often and it got annoying as it kept causing my games to freeze for a second every now and then. The Tdr value fix caused my game to completely crash, rather than just a 1 sec freeze. I reversed the fix and it was back to freezing every now and then. I tried updating and reinstalling drivers and everything, and a few tech-savvy friends i consulted said it must be a hardware error.
I reinstalled win 10 and reset my pc, and the error became less common, was much more tolerable. For twenty minutes. Waiting didn't help at all. Even pressing the power button on the CPU didn't work so I had to unplug it to shut it down. When I tried to turn it on again, it didn't work.
CPU would power up for a few seconds, then shut itself back down. I called the Lenovo support and did all the troubleshooting steps they asked of me, and concluded the motherboard was at fault. I got a replacement for the motherboard 2 days ago, and it was working again. And I shut down my PC at the end of the day, happy that it's over now.
I created a Windows 10 media on a USB from my spare laptop to try and fix this, because my Windows 8. Today I tried to fix it using advanced boot options but got the message, "Startup repair. I have to keep doing the startup repair process to turn my PC on every time I rebooot it.
